I was in Penang last week for an exhibition. Before coming back to Kuala Lumpur yesterday, my colleague asked if we want to visit the Kek Lok Si Temple for prayers. I replied why not since the last few months have been very bad months for me and I wouldn’t want it to continue next year.
We reached the foot of the mountain and we head for breakfast nearby. After breakfast, we ascend the mountain with various stalls along the way. We then reached a pond full of turtles in various sizes. My colleagues bought some kangkung to feed it but the turtles are full, well fed, so it looks like it is a waste of money.
Upon reaching the temple, we did our own prayers and wishes. I did not take the photos of the God’s statues as it is not appropriate in our beliefs. We then rang a gigantic bell after making a wish. All you have to do is place a donation for it, make a wish, ring the bell and hope your wish comes true. You can see a picture of Hau ringing the bell below.
We continue our prayers and went sightseeing around the temple before descending down the mountain. I managed to snap some photos for your viewing pleasure.
