Hmm … finally I finished the game during the weekend. It is not exactly that hard to play once you have figured it out. So this will be the final post for Disgaea with more details on the game as some people might have read the earlier post and maybe start playing already.

At first, you will keep dying. It doesn’t matter as it is like that but remember to save after each stage, important! After completing each stage, head back and visit the hospital and recovered fully. If the next stage is too hard for you, then you will require to level up your character at previous stages or you need better items. I normally grind levels and let most of the characters get badly injured or dead and then visit the hospital later. At the hospital, claim the “muscles” – add HP or the items that add all stats to your character. This will help a lot and the items gradually increases the stats as you claim them. You can get a “Rare” or “Legend” if you keep exiting and talking to the NPC until you see one.

So here are some of the important features:

Disciple – You can create disicples using Mana. The higher the mana you used, the grade of disciple gets better. Basically from Useless to Genius. Oh certain type of characters requires certain type of character levels to unlock. Recommend to train your disciple more than NPC as disciple can be carry forward when u complete the game.

Promotion Exam – You need to take the exam (fighting against the examiner and dispose them) to unlock more features such as Triple experiences, to get easier monsters and etc

Hospital – When you get injured or death, the characters recovered here using $$. However, you get prizes from the hospital the more you recover there. The interesting items will be the all stats items and “muscles”. Get most of these items and try to get it “Rare” or “Legend” then you do not need to level it in Item World

Item World – This is a place where you can level up your item’s level by 10. There are 10 levels each time you go in. If you failed at any stage, GAME OVER! You do not need to fight and you can rush to the portal to pass each stage.

Shops – The shops will sell the lowest and lousiest item at first. Then you will need to buy to level up your customer rank. When you reach certain level, you can unlock more items by using Mana – “More Expensive Items”

Leveling maps – Cave of Ordeal, Alternate Netherworld and The Mysterious Seal can be unlock if you met the requirements.

These will be sufficient for you to complete the game. There are several maps with double experience. Normally, what I do is I will farm some levels there. Then if my levels are a bit too high and the mobs can’t deal mass damage to me, i will start combining the monsters. These way you will gain vast levels very fast. It is also good time to level your disiciple at these stages.

The game is interesting but my passion for it has died down. Sing Hau uses people’s save file and spoiled my mood about the game. Overall, it is a nice and superb game features unlike some RPG games. I heard part 2 is coming out in PS3 (not confirmed)
